隨着香港的電動車數量上升，電動車充電設施的需求亦相應增加。除了有車廠積極為其車主提供充電設施外，有本地企業亦為屋苑及商場建設充電設施，並為不同品牌的電動車車主提供充電服務。
電動車充電供應商基石科技（08391）創辦人劉偉恩指出，公司除了為停車場添設充電設施外，亦可兼顧管理等事項。他期望3年內達至收支平衡、旗下充電設施覆蓋10%屋苑。
2016年於香港創立的基石科技是本港的電動車充電供應商，旗下技術包括電動車充電裝置（Cornerstone Charging）、都市綠色能源系統（Cornerstone Energy）及資訊科技系統（Cornerstone IT）。劉偉恩指出，本港停車場空間狹窄，公司亦特意設計不同款式的充電裝置，令不同的停車位亦可安裝充電裝置。
他解釋，除了體積較細的充電裝置款式外，亦為個別位置設計出掛頂式的充電裝置。「大部分充電裝置都是插牆式，但部分車位附近沒有地方擺放充電裝置，因此設計出擺放於天花板上的充電裝置。」他續指，為一個內有500個車位的停車場興建充電設施，成本約300萬元。
中央遙控 車主按量付費
本港現時約有4,000個屋苑設有停車場，而設有充電設施卻僅得60個。劉解釋，除了工程上的難題，在停車場添加充電設施亦面對不同困難，如承擔安裝成本及管理等問題。「我們負責安裝及管理充電設施，並獨力承擔成本，向電力公司支付電費。」該公司以月費形式向車主收費，每月880元可使用300度電，讓車主按用量付費。而充電設施支援八達通等電子支付，並可經中央管理系統進行遙距控制。
除了屋苑外，商業大廈的停車場亦可興建充電設施。但他坦言，業主或管理公司對興建充電設施的反應不一。他期望，公司的一條龍服務可為停車場業主，或管理者簡便地引入相關設備，推動本港電動車及充電設施發展。「除了積極建設充電設施網絡外，亦繼續研發不同的充電技術，如無綫充電等。」
談及電動車發展，劉偉恩認為近年不論歐美或日韓的車廠都先後推出電動車，當中不乏貴價車款及入門車款，讓車主按需要及喜好去選擇。

電動車標榜「零排放」，改善路邊空氣質素等，均成為各地推動電動車的原因。電動車充電供應商基石科技創辦人劉偉恩表示，公司除了提供電動車充電裝置外，亦有綠色能源系統，如利用舊電池進行另類供電，為電池帶來第二生命。
夥拍車廠 向車主提供優惠
他解釋，不少電池在電動車報廢或退役時，仍有50%至60%的功能。若視為垃圾處理，需要高成本。該公司會於舊電池中，找出仍可使用的部分並加以重組。重組後，電池可放於舊式大廈作為充電設施的電力供應。「不少舊式大廈由於電力不足，難以支援整個停車場的充電設施。而重組後的電池可以成為取代品，在日間充電後，於夜間為充電設施供電。」他另指，重組後的電池亦可取代傳統的柴油發電機，於戶外提供電力。
同時，公司的電力管理系統亦會監察各停車場的設施使用情況，若停車場的電力供應有限，系統可按情況調整充電設施的效能。同時，亦可向停車場管理公司提供管理系統，方便收費。
劉偉恩強調，為停車場添設充電設施時需顧及公平性，務求讓每個車主受惠。他認為，在公平原則下，總不能只在停車場某部分位置安裝充電設施。他期望可為停車場所有車位都提供充電設施。另透露，現時公司已與某車廠合作，向其電動車車主提供充電優惠。
